The construction industry contributes to roughly 50% of climate change, and 40% of energy usage globally; and at ebrik, we believe that sustainability in construction is achieved through transparent practices. Our goal is to build a more trustworthy and sustainable world and that’s why we’ve launched our newest sustainability certification, the Transparency in Construction awards.
We’re really excited to get this off the ground as we feel there is room to recognise and expand transparency efforts in the construction industry in the UK. We can’t wait to review all live construction projects and look forward to awarding the first badges. – Ana Moutinho, Founder & CEO, ebrik
With our impressive panel, including Paul Quinn – Director of Regeneration, Clarion Housing Group – and additional partners such as Sam Stacey, Challenge Director for Transforming Construction at UKRI, Andrew Edkins, Professor of the Management of Complex Projects at The Bartlett, UCL, and Peter Murray, Co-founder and Curator-in-Chief at NLA, ebrik is recognising those in the construction industry paving the way for more open and sustainable innovation.
Our awards program highlights open communication channels between build teams and buyers/tenants, transparent views into the entire construction process, and innovative materials and tools used throughout a project. In short, the awards are centred around four core areas: Holistic Thinking, Audience Engagement, Visual Management, and Traceability.
In addition to joining our judging panel for the Transparent Construction Awards, Clarion Housing Group and ebrik have a history of collaborating to push boundaries within construction.
Our latest project, centred around the Ravensbury Regeneration, aims to connect all parties in the building process, from tenants and local occupants to construction teams and project managers. We believe that by having one central hub, the ebrik framework, open communication can be achieved by everyone involved in the building process.
Now, with Clarion and our other partners’ help in promoting the Transparency in Construction Awards, we’re striving to create a central repository of construction innovation.
There are three primary award categories:
1. Site of the Month
2. Transparent Developer Award
3. Site of the Year
To submit a project, simply visit the ebrik awards page and follow the swift submission process. Once your project has been initially approved, the documents are checked, validated, and sent to our jury for further examination. This process will last up to five days.
If the initial application is successful, the entry will be eligible for all three award categories, and we will notify successful applicants each month.
To enter the awards, the organisation must:
• Select a construction project that has started works on-site by the date of the awards submission.
• Select a construction project that will not complete works on-site at least one month after the awards submission.
• Select a project that has a minimum of five plots being built or renovated on-site or that has an investment of £1M or above (applicable industries: Commercial, Social, Residential, or Infrastructure).
Award submissions are now closed. To find out more visit: https://awards.ebrik.co.uk/awards/ or contact us on info@ebrik.co.uk
